Affordable housing for the first home owner
Cousins Property Group Pty Ltd (CS) has commenced negotiations with a view to forming a joint venture to facilitate the development of some five-hundred allotments in the Townsville region.
Russell Cousins, the Director of Cousins Property Group, said the purpose of the joint venture was to produce a product so affordable that it provides first home buyers with the chance to enter the market and own their own home.
The product will be a house & land package at the three-hundred thousand level.
This project will compliment two other very affordable subdivisions already underway by CS on the Tablelands at Ravenshoe and 30 minutes south of Cairns. These projects will enable southern city dwellers to ‘own’ their own home in one of these great locations where there are plenty of employment opportunities and exit the renting cycle.
Construction of Sunrise Estate on the Tablelands will commence mid-June 2008. The first 34 lots will be ready to commence house construction by October 2008. The end value of the three projects will be approximately $200 million.
